  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 oz feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 cup tzatziki sauce
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup arugula
  • 2 tbsp Greek extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and form into loose balls. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a cast iron skillet or griddle over high heat. Drizzle with Greek olive oil.
  3. Place beef balls on hot surface and immediately smash flat with a spatula. Cook for 2-3 minutes until crispy.
  4. Flip burgers and top with crumbled feta cheese. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. Toast burger buns on the griddle until golden.
  6. Spread tzatziki sauce on bottom bun, add arugula, place burger patty, then top with tomato, red onion, and more tzatziki.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy your Greek-inspired smash burger!

Notes

For best results, use high-quality Greek extra virgin olive oil. The key to a perfect smash burger is a very hot cooking surface and pressing the patty thin for maximum crust.
